Hi,

I think you will find that Moderator 1 is Sally at least it was she who answered my emails.

It would be polite and respectful to all members if you allowed us to know your name Moderator 1. This secrecy is very strange and the new system is detracting from the previous friendly atmosphere of the forum.

Posters on the topic may wish to ponder on the fact that the person, who was critical of NRAS and the members of this forum on another site, acted in a typically childish fashion by complaining to NRAS instead of having the decency to apologise to members. Perhaps this is why we are now all being treated like children.

Eleanor is so right....the friendly atmosphere on here has been destroyed by the arrival of Moderator 1.

We KNOW forums can be moderated without the high-handed attitude, we have seen it in practice but it seems it's not going to happen on here. Many people have stopped posting and the soul has gone out of the forum. We could all just give up on it but it was a lifeline to so many of us when we found it and we would like to be able to provide the same support for new members as we had.Hopefully one day we will get back to how we used to be but it won't happen if management are going to continue treating us like children to be dictated to. It's NRAS's forum, we keep it running, but we can't do it while their attitude is so hostile to us.

I can`t really add anything more to the above comments, but I`ve been a member for a good while now, and I can remember when the forum was such a good place to be that I used to log in with anticipation and a sense of pleasure. That atmosphere has been destroyed, and in its place is a sense of anger, hurt, and suspicion - not what you really want when you`re feeling stiff, in pain, and downright fed up.

On another forum which I visit, it is not unusual for the moderators - all named - to add their own birthday wishes, congratulations, best wishes etc to those of the members. They seem warm, human people. On here the whole system smacks of Big Brother - positively Orwellian. Maybe we should sign all our posts with our Membership Number - let`s get really impersonal!

The real point is that the whole situation could have been avoided - the Moderators were brought in by one person who made a complaint about other people who were wholeheartedly defending NRAS, this forum, and - by definition - those of us who post here.

I agree with all the above comments. I'm finding the fact we can't put a name to Moderator 1 slightly annoying.
My Mum agrees this whole situation is terrible. She's always been so greatfull that I've had this forum to go to, but now I'm considering cancelling my membership because it just isn't the same.

Hi there everyone. I posted this "Locked the thread?" and
have been poorly with a bad cough and cold so have only just read the
responses today.
Thank you for all the info.
I could barely comprehend that Mary and Jean, of all people, had decided to leave.
I am certain that I have recieved lovely responses to my posts from both of these
caring ladies several times in the past and I hope that they will come back to us on
the forum.
Please someone tell them to come back if you have their email addresses.
As for someone saying that we are not supportive, I just don't get this.
But I will say that sometimes I myself might be feeling ill and so I just read the posts,
but with the knowledge that others will respond sympathetically if they are feeling up
to it themselves.
This little circle of R.A sufferers offers a safe haven for us all to turn to.
It should also be a place where we can freely express our opinions on issues that
come up for discussion.
If a topic comes up that anyone feels uncomfortable about they should go on to the
next topic that interests them.
I think adults should moderate for themselves what they choose to discuss or ignore.
If everyone totally ignores a topic the poster will get bored and stop posting about it.
Lets just hope that the Moderators will have a rethink about closing threads while there
is still a debate going on and not make us afraid of expressing our opinions.
Because we have R.A does not entitle anyone to treat us as though our faculties have
been affected.
Peace and love to all,
FionaSmile

Sorry you've been poorly, ThumbDown ThumbDown Fiona, hope you are on the mend now?
I agree with everything you said, wish it had never happened, and long for a rewind button so we can have our lovely and loving, trustworthy forum restored to us. Take care, Lxx

MODERATOR 1 JUST A QUICK QUESTION, DO YOU WORK FOR THE KGB?? IF SO, WE SHOULD BE TOLD WE DONT WANT TO GIVE AWAY ANY SECRETS. CAN YOU NOT UNDERSTAND, JEAN WAS SUPPORTING NRAS STICKING UP FOR NRAS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN HERE FOR MEMBERS, OLD AND NEW. MARY BECAME ENTANGLED IN THIS STRANGE WEB, AND HAS NOW LEFT DUE TO THE BANNING OF JEAN. IS IT BEYOND YOUR LIMITATIONS TO UNDERSTAND THAT SUPPORTING MEANS ON YOUR SIDE?????? NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CAUSE BANNING FOR ANYBODY!!!!! IT APPEARS THAT IF WE SUPPORT NRAS WE ARE IN TROUBLE FOR DOING SO, SO IF THERE ARE COMPLAINTS FROM A MEMBER VIA ANOTHER FORUM, WE ARE IN THE WRONG FOR SHOWING SUPPORT!!!! CAN YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME, AS APPARENTLY I AM A LITTLE DIM AS I HAVE RA. WHERE WAS THE CYBER BULLYING, AND WHY CAN YOU NOT BE NAMED, SO WE KNOW WHO WE ARE TALKING TO, OR AT LEAST, TYPING TO, AS I WOULD IMAGINE YOU DONT WANT TO TALK TO US. OTHER FORUMS ACTUALLY SHOW THE MODERATORS NAMES AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. WE FHAD THE PM TAKEN AWAY, AND NOW WE ARE BEING TOLD WHAT WE CAN SAY AND WHEN. I THOUGHT WE LIVED IN A COUNTRY WHERE FREE SPEECH WAS ALLOWED, WELL, APPARENTLY NOT ON NRAS

NO< NO<NO Barbie, NOT the KGB.......its the MAFIABigGrin BigGrin

I totally agree with you, such a disgraceful way to treat J and M when they were only ever SUPPORTING and protecting the integrity of an organisation that OUGHT to value them, not delete them...With this attitude, you have to wonder why they ever bothered to be protective of a Forum they always contributed to. They CAN be found on a facebook site though, LOTS of people (42 at last count!!!) are there......are you?? MUCH love, Lxx

Lylie, yes, I have joined the f b group, and its great!!! You are very much talked about (nicely!!!) on there!! This is a complete disgrace!! I just dont understand it, nothing like this has happened before, why bother to "moderate" now??? Let members moderate themselves, everyone on here is old enough to make up their mind about a certain thread, if you dont like it dont read it!!! simples!! love to you Lylie, and hope you are feeling better, as know you were quite ill x x x Smile

Chrissie, it had nothing to do with anything you did, it was the moderator. Apparrently we have to be told what to say and when. What a strange state of affairs!!

So, is this why the site is so quiet these days?

Are you all hiding on FB?
